Camilla and Nick’s Engagement Session in Washington, D.C. was so classy. **Insert all the heart eye emojis**
Travis and I got up at 1:45AM. Yes…you read that right. And it was rough. We left at 2:15 and arrived in D.C. at about 5:30 so we could start shooting around 6:00. It was so much fun walking the streets of D.C. for their session. Neither of us had been to Washington, D.C. in years so, we enjoyed seeing all the things! We loved getting to know them! Can you believe they flew in from Texas for this?!
We worked our way around the back of the Capital and then around to the front. When we got to the front, it was blocked off. Thankfully Big Dqqky (pronounced Dukey), came to our rescue! (Yes, that is for real his nickname and on his business card, haha I love it! I would love to know the story behind that! HA!) I was literally just telling them we should ask if we can use the stairs for a few and right when I said that, he called us over and opened the gate to us! It was so awesome! We chatted with him for a little while, it was so cool to hear some of his story! He has been serving his country and community since he was a young adult. His positive attitude and kind words were so refreshing and inspiring!
We ended up working our way around back to our cars and headed over to Union Station. About a hour later, Trav and I made it. We really struggle driving in cities and went into what we thought was a reserved parking garage and ended up circling inside for about 20 minutes. It was rough, but we made it.
The architecture inside the Union Station was phenomenal! We did some portraits, inside and out and wrapped up our session there! I am looking so forward to their wedding in December at the Army Navy Country Club!
